  • Studied classical and jazz clarinet styles privately with Paul Guma, the 1st clarinet of the New Orleans Symphony.
  • Attended Southeastern college.
  • Began playing professionally in 1968.
  • Played with Rhythm and Blues bands 1968 through 1970.
  • Played with the Storyville Jazz Band in 1971.
  • Sideman and subsequently leader of the Dukes of Dixieland.
  • Eight years as a freelance musician on the Delta Queen Steamboat.
  • Three years playing with legendary trumpeter Al Hirt.
  • Played in the warm up band at Radio City Music Hall for Frank Sinatra.
  • Entertainment Director for New Orleans Paddlewheels, Creole Queen & Cajun Queen riverboats.
  • Clarinet/Tenor and Soprano Saxophone player for "A Recherche de Josephine," directed by Jerome Savary at the Opéra Comique. Otis has toured France, Spain, Germany, and Austria with the show.
