- A native of Watkins Glen, New York, Ed Clute has been playing piano since the age of three.
- He graduated from the New England Conservatory of Music where he studied piano performance, and spent the next three years studying with classical pianist Jean Casadesus.
- Mr. Clute has played in many jazz bands, including his own, and performed for the last 28 years in local jazz festival. He has had the pleasure of sitting in with Benny Goodman and Turk Murphy.
- Banu Gibson first heard Mr. Clute play piano on a jazz cruise where she was performing, and was impressed by his mastery of jazz piano and his vast repertoire of classic American popular song.
- Mr. Clute is a wonderful accompanist for vocalists. No matter the key, Mr. Clute is there to provide the perfect musical support.
